There is a castle in Central Park!
Hi everyone! I and some of my Manhattan friends went to Central Park last Saturday. It`s too big and so beautifull. One thing that I`m impressed about New York is how there are many beautiful parks and how the people enjoy it! I intend to go there again because I want to know the castle.
QUEENS - St. John's University
I
was very impressed with the physical structure of the campus Queens. I loved
the visit. Our guide was very helpful and friendly during the tour of the Campus. It was an unforgettable day. I loved being there. And I know that much
has yet to come. Emotions do not stop in New York.

English Refinement Class
English Refinement Class

My first week studying English at St John`s University was great! We have had many experience in NYC.
By now I would like to express my reflection about our first classes and special one of them about "summarize". I believe that this kind of learning contributes for our writing and speaking development in English of course and even in our own language. I mean that we as a teacher using this actitivity with our students we can help our colleagues (Portuguese Teacher).
Donna, our Professor used a good didatic sequence (chat, mingle) for working summarize. We got comfortable, spoke too much and drank a juice in our real chat!!!! We talked about "Brooklin Bridge"A lesson in a creative motivation.
Thanks
Marcia
PUBLIC LIBRARY
This excursion was really wonderful! I couldn't never imagine how big is the Public Library in New York. It has more than 20 millions of books and many reading rooms, where you can read and also use the computers. Its architecture is amazing, whose walls are made of marmore . Inside some rooms we can see wonderful and enormous paintings like this one:

CENTRAL PARK
I spent Saturday afternoon in Central Park. It was surprising because the vision I had there was very different. I imagined a
much smaller park, but it is actually a beautiful expanse.
I read that although the park looks natural, it is in fact almost
entirely landscaped and contains several artificial lakes, hiking trails, two
ice skating rinks, a sanctuary alive and diverse fields. Considered by the
Guinness Book the green side of New York, the park was designed to give a warm
climate city and forget the skyscrapers dominate scattered everywhere.
Visiting the 9/11 Memorial
On June 23rd I visited the 9/11 Memorial. I had
just arrived from Brazil so I was a little tired yet. But it was really an
emotional program because I could feel closer how people suffered with this
tragic event. The attack that shook the United States and worldwide, was
executed, killing nearly three thousand people, among which, besides Americans
were affected natural 91 countries. I’ve heard from an old man in front of the
Memorial that many people who died have never been found. It’s so sad!
